Hailey - People of Pearson

“As Switch Health’s Nurse Operations Manager, one of my main responsibilities is trying to make both passengers and colleagues feel extremely comfortable with their involvement in Toronto Pearson’s arrivals testing program. We do whatever we can to protect them and help them protect themselves. A lot of the passengers are receptive and appreciative of what we are doing, so I think the nurses have a positive effect on their travel experience. We have to get things done in a timely manner, but basic nursing is interacting with patients, active listening and listening to their concerns.

The best part of my job is my colleagues. We have a really great team at Switch Health. Even when things are stressful, we all help each other get through and put whatever hat we need to put on to get the job done.

As a nurse, my incentive is to help people. This is why we’re doing what we’re doing – we simply want to help people. We want to help find some sort of normalcy. As the vaccine rolls out, we know there is going to be inevitable change, and we’re trying to facilitate that change in the smoothest way possible and act as a support system for the airport community.”
