“I’ve been a paramedic for over thirty years. In high school I wanted to be a carpenter, but my parents were both working as paramedics and they told me I should try it—it turns out that I loved it. 

As a Superintendent with Peel Regional Paramedic Services, it’s my job to support the frontline paramedics when they have difficult calls or if they need more supplies, as well as to provide mentorship. In today’s pandemic environment, our staff are taking extra precautions to be able to take the best care of you. 

I love being a part of the airport community and responding to calls here because I love to travel. There is always a sense of being so close to taking off on a new adventure. I’m always stopping by when I’m out on patrol to look at the activity here.

Passengers and employees at Toronto Pearson are well cared for. In 2019, we did 6,800 calls to the airport. We have a satellite ambulance station thirty seconds away, so we’re always close. There are also close to 250 Automated External Defibrillators spread across the airport. With the help of bystanders, airport workers and first responders, over half of the patients who have suffered cardiac arrest at Pearson have regained a pulse.”
